Buffy the Vampire Slayer series was one of the best shows around the late 90's and it was seen by millions of people around the world. The show compelled of many different things revolved around Buffy, Giles, her friends, the forces of darkness, and the Hellmouth. Everyone loved the show and the series had seven intriguing seasons but by watching the show it is hard to understand the role of the Slayer and what Buffy had to become to keep the role of the Slayer. A Vampire Slayer was someone to only not destroy the forces of darkness but to understand and take in the negative side of being a Slayer. Buffy had to give up her personal life to save the world, along with her friends to give the world something they all didn't have "a life". All of them had duties and rarely had the time to themselves.
Season 1 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer series included episodes of Buffy, Giles, and her friends starting out on a journey ahead with little experience. Along the episodes, Buffy had to learn that Sunnydale was no different from L.A. When Buffy arrived at Sunnydale, she didn't know of the activities and the journey before her. She also didn't know of the friends and Watcher she was going to have. Buffy had killed vampieres before and knew how to protect herself but she didn't have all the skills. She had to learn them along the way, but she had a few issues with her principal and her mom to hide her secret from. Being a Slayer, having homework, friends, and having a personal life was very hard work.

That someone is vampire named Angelus, better known as Angel. Angel touched Buffy in a way that no man has ever touched her or better yet no one will ever will. Buffy fell in love with a vampire didn't know it. Buffy knew that something wasn't right about Angel . He would always come around when she was patrolling but would always disappear, but one night they kissed and it changed everything. She found out that he was a vampire, the secret Angel had kept from her all that time. Angel knew he had to stay away from her because he wanted her and her blood as well. They knew they had to stay away from each other. So, they only saw each other around work.
Meanwhile, Buffy friends Xander and Willow had different feelings. Xander wanted Buffy and Willow wanted Xander. It was like a love ring. They wanted someone they couldn't have. WHen Xander found out that Angel was a vampire that gave him another reason to not like Angel. WIllow, on the other hand, was always around Xander but it was like she was seen but not heard because she wanted Xander but couldn't tell him how she felt.
Giles was preparing Buffy for the most evil yet "The Master". The Master's plan was to open the Hellmouth and reign on Earth, but he will need a lot to do it, but Buffy was on him. First, he tried to complete a harvest where other vampires will feed and every person they killed would make the Master stronger. Buffy had a plan for that so she rounded up her friends and Angel and prepared to take the other vampires out while the Master was waiting on his souls. Buffy fought the toughest one, which was the one to take souls for the Master, and staked him. The Master's plan was foiled. He knew he had to make another plan and soon. So, he gathered his vampires and came up with the plan to kell 5 people and among those 5 people, 1 will be chosen to bring forth the one that will set the Master free. So, his plan worked this time and among those 5 people a little boy was chosen and he started to prepare his plan.

Buffy & Her Destiny
The whole plan had been written for hundreds of years for what was to happen. The Master was suppose to feed off of Buffy and release himself to open the Hellmouth which was below the Sunnydale School Library. Giles had told Buffy her fate which had already been written for her to die. So, on that fateful night which happened to be the Spring Fling dance, she saw the chosen one and she knew what he wanted her to do. She was led to the Master and he was waiting on her. She wanted to fight but the Master already had his plan in tact. He was to bite her and let himself out to be free. Meanwhile, Giles, Xander, Willow, and Cordelia were in the school library trying to stope the Hellmouth from opening. Xander knew Buffy was facing the Master, so he wanted to save Buffy himself along with Angel's help. Xander told Angel to lead him to the Master but it was too late. Buffy had died.
Buffy had been bitten and the Master left her to drown. The Master had opened the Hellmouth which brought out a big beast with legs that was unleashed in the library. Everyone there in library was fighting to stay alive. Meanwhile, Xander and Angel was trying to get Buffy alive to face the Master again. Angel didn't have any breath in his body since he was a vampire, so Xander had to try to save her life. Xander performed CPR on Buffy but he had tried at least three times and she wasn't breathing. At the last second Buffy was revived. She was alive and strong. Buffy knew what she had to do and that was to kill the Master. She found the Master on teh rooftop of the library proud of what he had accomplished, but she was about to spoil his fun. She let him know she was alive by giving him a beatdown to the finish. She swung him over to fall below on a stake and the Master and the beast were defeated. She had beaten the fate to die and suffer and had saved the world.

I love rewatching season one. It's so lighthearted and cute compared to the darker later seasons, but still manages to portray serious things.
