The Best E-Book Readers of 2011

Electronic Book Reader

Some of the best electronic book readers in my opinion are those that offer a lot of features like Wifi, display, and applications. Most people probably look for the best price of a reader, but I look at what the reader can offer me, so I figured before I buy an electronic reader I want to find out which one will be the best one for me. I like applications and for it to have a long battery life and I love accessories. Well there are a few electronic readers I am looking at from Amazon and I am thinking about the Kindle and the Nook. There are disadvantages and advantages in both of them. I would also like to have one that holds a lot of books on them so I have a variety of books to read. I will also need one that holds a lot of memory, so I can have different apps on them. I am a sucker for the apps. LOL..

Amazon Kindle 2nd Generation Free 3G and WiFi

This electronic reader is the previous generation of the Kindle and it includes 3G wireless, global coverage to have when you travel to another country, Wifi, and long battery life. It also has some of these other features:

  • Lightweight "6"
  • Holds up to 1,500 books
  • Paper-Like Display
  • Built-In PDF Reader
  • Large selection of books
  • Social Networks
  • Low Book Prices
  • Out of Copyright, Pre-1923 Books( Good For Readers That Like Older Novels)
  • Free Book Samples
  • Include power adapter, USB 2.0 cable, rechargeable battery

Barnes and Noble Nook

This electronic book reader has Wifi and 3G wireless capabilities. It also includes a changeable battery to switch out from if you need an extra battery which is a plus for me. It also includes an SD slot for additional memory which is also a bonus for me. This is good because if you need more memory for books and apps, this is an advantage. I will say when reviewing the nook, I didn't see that it carries a large selection of books, pdf reader, or free book samples. While reviewing the Nook, I did see some good reviews on it and that there is more to come with this electronic book reader but I am leaning towards the Kindle but would love to see some upgrades of this book reader. I will keep a close eye on it.

Summary

From my research on the best electronic book reader, I think I am going to go with the Kindle DX or the Kindle Wifi that is $139. It seems like those are the two that stand out to me and I might read more reviews to get more details on features and experiences with these electronic book readers because I don't want to buy something and it is not worth it. I know I will find the right one, just need to read more reviews on them. Thanks for reading..
